The City has been a proud partner in the Vision 2020/Building a Better Community process.  Some 400 people attended and participated in the two community assessment meetings, and now we are moving forward to create our vision, set priorities, and select a number of action projects.

As its own strategic planning session held in early March, the City Council agreed to adopt the top four priorities from the visioning process and use them in developing specific City goals and objectives.  The four priorities include

  1. Building economic development/sustainability through jobs, livable wages, affordable house and small business expansion

  2. Building community by encouraging tolerance, developing new leadership and bridging cultural gaps

  3. Building multi-cultural, multi-generational recreation and cultural opportunities; and

  4. Building multi-cultural, multi-generational life-long learning opportunities including environmental education.
