Director of Planning & Development Services:

The Director of Planning & Development Services serves as department director with primary responsibilities for departmental administration, while overseeing economic and physical development activities within the City. Specific departmental activities include development marketing, deal structuring, business retention/expansion, zoning administration, land use planning, codes administration, technical assistance, and

project management.

Megan Sauer

The Planner is responsible for land use planning, zoning administration, and assists with economic development research and projects. The Planner also acts as staff support for the Planning Commission as well as the Board of Zoning Appeals.

 

Building Official:  
 

 

 

 

Randy Kardell

rkardell@ci.willmar.mn.us 

The Building Official is primarily responsible for the administration and enforcement of State Building Code. The Building Official also conducts plan reviews and inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable construction codes.

Tom Rosemeier

The Building Inspector is responsible for the rental housing program, new construction, and zoning inspections using City ordinances, the State Building Code and uniform building codes and standards.

 

   
Department Clerk / Permit Technician:

The Department Clerk is responsible for the issuance of the maintenance and mechanical permits, scheduling of building and rental inspections, and providing clerical support for the department.
