Following the 2000 Federal Census, the City is required to review the population data and adjust the city wards to reflect any population shifts in the existing wards. The City Council reviewed three proposals to determine the best and most practicable layout of wards and precincts. One of the overall maxims for a new design is to attempt to minimize block changes in order to retain the same voting precinct for most of the citizens. You may review the map to determine your voting precinct for the 2008 elections or you may wait for a “change of polling location” card to be mailed to your home address if you have been placed in a new precinct.
