• Provide legal advice to Mayor, Council and Department Heads

• Criminal prosecution of adults committing petty misdemeanors, misdemeanors, and most gross misdemeanors. Prosecution of juvenile traffic offenders.

• Prepare and/or review City contracts; ordinances; resolutions; bonds; insurance certificates; licenses.

• Commences and handles civil litigation not handled by the City's insurance carrier.

• Serves as legal counsel for the City owned Municipal Utilities and Rice Memorial Hospital.
