The City Assessor is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the functions of the Office of the City Assessor. The Assessor's Office values and classifies all the real and personal property in the city for the purpose of taxation. Conducted on an annual basis, this involves the determination of the estimated market value of all property and the classification based on state statute. Records of special assessments levied against property pursuant to a city improvement project are kept on file in this office.
